This copyright statement applies to the website, Astra's Stargate. All information that is presented as the original work of the author belongs to the author. Information on most of these pages may be used by educators and amateur astronomers or star gazers as materials to be used for public programs. If the information is to be printed, the author must be contacted. Any other use requires written permission from the author or authors.

Permission may be obtained by writing to the author. All images that require the authors permission are labeled with the copyright symbol ©. The same applies to the images that have been created by Dawn Jenkins for Astra's Stargate. Use the contact page to obtain permission or make comments. Also, images on the site are optimized for the web and screen viewing so contacting the author may result in better images. Feel free to point others to the URLs at Astra's Stargate. Many of the images used here have been imported from the web. There are many images that have been downloaded from NASA. These images are publicly available and where applicable, there will be a copyright added directly to the image. ©NASA Other images may be owned by NASA and other entities. Those organizations will also be noted on the copyright tag.

Images from Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)

Images from the Indian Space Research Organisation (or other India government agencies) will appear at Astra's Stargate using the notation ©GODL-India. Such images are licensed for all shareable non-sensitive data available in digital or analog forms and generated using public funds by various agencies of the Government of India. All users are provided a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, adapt, publish (either in original, or in adapted and/or derivative forms), translate, display, add value, and create derivative works (including products and services), for all lawful commercial and non-commercial purposes, and for the duration of existence of such rights over the data or information.

Fair Use Images

Many images used at Astra's that are not in the public domain or copyrighted are used to represent various organizations. This is especially true of logos. Astra's Stargate is a privately-owned website and has no affliation to any of the entities whose logos may appear on the site. Some images that are taken using spacecraft by nationally-owned organizations. Because it is otherwise impossible to attain these images, they have been used on this site. The intent is always to represent such organization in a positive manner. These images will be posted using low resolution and do not indicate the approval of such entities. In no way is this intended to infringe on copyrights. Any organization that wants to protest this use, may contact Astra , the website owner. If there is a legitimate issue, the image(s) will be removed immediately.

Images that are found to be in the public domain may be edited or cropped for improved appearence on the pages at Astra's. If you wish to use any of these images you may do so. If any image is used as a public domain image and you have any other information about such images, do not hesitate to contact the webmaster using the contact page.

A very wonderful source of images on the internet is the WikiMedia Commons site. It is very easy to use these images, but there are conditions and this section of the copyright pages at Astra's Stargate is intended to help fulfill those conditions as well as help other users, students, and educators.
