As the hours tick away before the April 8 eclipse, check the National Weather Service for updates on the weather. It looks dismal, but remember, you don't know if the clouds are really going to be over your head. Be prepared! You will find me in my backyard standing in the dark on Monday, April 8, during totality.

U.S. Naval Observatory 2024 April 8 Total Solar Eclipse - USNO
The Astronomical Applications Department created this page to generate local circumstances for the 2024 total solar eclipse. The site also sponsors a link to a map from Her Majesty's Nautical Almanac Office (HMNAO), that includes local circumstances, animations, and diagrams about the eclipse for selected US cities but it seems that they are performing maintenance on the site.

Ohio Total Solar Eclipse | Emergency Management Agency - This site has a lot of information for the State of Ohio that has a 124-mile long eclipse path.
There are many more events, all over the country. Do some searches and find the choices that will be taking place all around you. The lakefront viewing in the Ohio area offers many opportunities to watch this eclipse. Of course, the weather will be a factor, but be patient if you must wait for breaks in the cloud. If you are not prepared, you most likely won't see anything.
